Handwritten minutes of the Vestry for the parish of St. John, Barbados for the period March1863 to October1884. The minutes for each meeting include the names of the vestrymen present and the business transacted. Business included: taxation rate for landowners; names of shopkeepers and the tax stipulated; payments to named pensioners; names of salaried officers paid by the Parochial Treasurer; payments by the Parochial Treasurer; Payment to widows under the terms of the will of the late J.H. Massiah; appointment committees - education, health, road; audit and building; Statement from J.
